Sally
Hi, I’m Sally, I have been working in the early years sector for over 35 years both as a practitioner and also as a tutor, teaching a variety of courses in the childcare sector.
I am passionate about early language development and the impact language has on learning and development. I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to become an accredited early language lead within Nottinghamshire.
I had been running the out of school club in Edwalton for about 16 years when my daughter Kerry came on board as a business partner. It is lovely to be working together and sharing a passion for early years and childcare.
I still have hands on time with children at our setting, which I believe is essential if you want to remain grounded and in touch with your staff and children.

After pursuing a career in recruitment for 10 years, I wanted to look for something which would be more fulfilling and teaching had always been something I was interested in. I am proud of the fact that I worked full-time whilst also studying for an Early Years degree and graduated in 2014.
I found my studies in early years fascinating and really enjoying putting theory into practice once I joined mum in the family business. I think it is fair to say that mum and I compliment each other well and bring different strengths to the table. Together we have now bought our own building and expanded to incorporate preschool as well as the out of school club.
No day is ever the same here – I often find myself saying ‘please take the dinosaur out of the oven’ or going home with pockets full of treasure and there is nowhere else I would rather be!
