After a successful 10-year career in recruitment, I decided to pursue a more fulfilling path and followed a long-standing interest in education. While working full-time, I undertook a degree in Early Years and proudly graduated in 2014.
My studies deepened my passion for early childhood development, and I particularly enjoyed applying theory to practice when I joined my mum, Sally, in the family childcare business. After purchasing our own premises, Sally and I worked together to grow the business, expanding our provision to include both a preschool and an out-of-school club.
Since Sally’s retirement, I have taken on full leadership of the setting, continuing to build on the strong foundations we created together. I’m especially proud of the progress we’ve made with the support and dedication of Keely, whose hard work has been invaluable to our leadership team.
No two days are ever the same—whether it’s removing dinosaurs from the oven or heading home with pockets full of “treasure,” working with children continues to be a joyful and rewarding experience. I truly couldn’t imagine being anywhere else.
I’m really proud of the homely setting we’ve created and the supportive work family of experienced childcare professionals who help make it so special.

I first became involved in childcare back in 2014 when I started volunteering at my daughter’s preschool. I quickly realised how much I loved being part of children’s early learning experiences, and went on to complete my Level 3 qualification in 2015. From there, I worked in a private day nursery, eventually becoming room leader, before moving on to a local kids club where I later stepped into the manager role.
In 2022, I set up my own childminding business, which was a great experience and something I’m really proud of. But as much as I enjoyed it, I missed working as part of a team. So when the opportunity to join Willow Childcare came up in April 2024, I jumped at the chance, and I’m so glad I did!
I feel really lucky to work with such an amazing team, they’re more than just colleagues, they truly are my work family. I also really enjoy getting to know all of the children and their families; building those relationships is one of the most rewarding parts of the job. There’s so much support and passion in everything we do, and it makes Willow Childcare a genuinely special place to be. I’m proud to be part of it and love coming to work each day.
